Cursos de Ciência da Felicidade estão atraindo milhares de pessoas
A professora de psicologia da Universidade de Yale, Laurie Santos, dá aulas na matéria mais popular da história da faculdade: “Psychology and the Good Life”.
O objetivo do curso é analisar o conceito da “psicologia positiva” definida pelo psicólogo Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, que tem a finalidade de tratar sentimentos como depressão ou ansiedade, portanto a psicologia positiva se concentra em como cultivar um senso de satisfação e propósito na vida.
Os alunos percebem diferentes abordagens da felicidade; a importância do sono; a meditação e os exercícios que podem aumentar o bem-estar; e os efeitos negativos para a saúde mental de se comparar com a vida aparentemente perfeita dos outros nas mídias sociais.
Os alunos também participaram de aulas on-line ao vivo para discutir esses tópicos e se reuniram em “centros de felicidade”, liderados por colegas, onde puderam testar técnicas de psicologia positiva.
A pesquisadora Linda Boiler, de saúde mental do instituto Trimbos, diz que os cursos online podem atingir milhares de pessoas, gerando um grande efeito na sociedade, gerando um impacto na saúde mental pública.
