Por uma taxa de entrega de $ 3,99, os clientes podem encomendar itens com um total de até 4,5 kg, os clientes poderão encomendar dezenas de milhares de artigos elegíveis, para entrega por via aérea em apenas 30 minutos.
O Walmart diz que inicialmente acreditava que os clientes usariam drones para “itens de emergência” – mas depois de centenas de entregas nos últimos seis meses, descobriu que as pessoas usam o serviço por sua conveniência.
Até o momento os feedbacks estão sendo positivos e lojas parceiras da rede abrirão centros de entrega que incluirão pilotos certificados para manejar os drones.
“O cliente sempre esteve no centro de nosso foco no Walmart, e procuramos parceiros que sejam tão focados na experiência do cliente quanto nós”, disse o Walmart em comunicado da empresa.
Entregas por drones já haviam sido praticadas, e agora grandes empresas estão buscando expandir esse método. Contudo, se de um lado há praticidade e comodidade, por outro é necessário rever até que ponto é um método economicamente viável e quais impactos podem gerar nas ocupações tradicionais do mercado de trabalho.
