Uma nova revolução na internet?
A chegada do Metaverso promete revolucionar mais uma vez a internet.
Dessa vez, o Vale do Silício está apostando bilhões de dólares para que no futuro, ao contrário de tocar em telas, as pessoas possam acessar a web por meio de headsets vestíveis que vão nos transportar para mundos virtuais.
A Meta, Microsoft e Google já estão vendendo gadgets para esse propósito, mas até o momento, parece que esta modalidade de realidade virtual ainda é rudimentar, com limitações relacionadas à definição que se espera para o entretenimento digital.
Em um headset de realidade virtual, as telas ficam a apenas alguns centímetros à frente dos nossos olhos, o que demanda um grande número de pixels em um espaço muito pequeno para se aproximar da definição semelhante a uma TV 4K.
Esta definição ainda é impossível com as telas de hoje, mas em uma publicação da Science, pesquisadores da Samsung e da Universidade de Stanford dizem que as tecnologias emergentes podem, em breve, nos aproximar do limite teórico da densidade de pixels, inaugurando novos e poderosos headsets de realidade virtual.
O desafio estaria apenas em descobrir como fazer um objeto leve, com uma boa duração de bateria e também com um preço viável para o mercado. Pontos que não devem demorar muito para serem sanados.
